Munster Technological University hosted a successful and engaging Open Day at its Bishopstown Campus on Friday, 15th November, drawing thousands of post-primary students eager to explore the University’s diverse academic offerings and state-of-the-art facilities.
The event offered prospective students, their families, and guidance counsellors a unique opportunity to meet faculty, interact with current students, and experience the wide range of courses available at MTU.
Visitors to MTU’s Bishopstown campus enjoyed a comprehensive programme of activities, including a Careers Exhibition at the impressive MTU Arena, alongside a series of information sessions, interactive workshops, and hands-on demonstrations. The event featured 123 CAO course options for the 2025 academic year, with attendees being introduced to diverse fields ranging from technology and business to arts, design, and music.
Participants were also able to tour the campus, visit academic departments, and engage directly with students and faculty to gain insight into student life and future career opportunities.
Prof. Maggie Cusack, President of MTU, said: “The success of the MTU Open Day is a testament to the enthusiasm and ambition of young people looking to shape their futures through higher education. Attendees had the chance to explore the university’s impressive facilities, including a wide range of laboratories, workshops, studio spaces, and the award-winning MTU Architecture Factory, as well as to learn about the range of extracurricular activities available at MTU, from clubs and societies to sports teams. Students who are preparing for their CAO applications in 2025 had the chance to ask questions, get advice on their future career prospects, and see what makes MTU a unique and exciting place to study.
